Main Objectives Of The Drill:
[1] Releasing the 3rd player
[2] 1st touch
[3] Passing
[4] Shooting
[a] 3 field players;
[b] 1 goalkeeper;
[c] 1 ball.
How To Play It:
[1] Player A plays the ball to Player B;
[2] Player B plays the ball to Player C;
[3] Player A sprints forward into the open space;
[4] Player C releases Player A by making a pass forward;
[5] Player A takes a shot at goal;
[6] Player A brings the ball back and all players switch positions: Player A takes the position ofPlayer B, Player B takes the position of Player C and Player C takes the position of Player A.
Variations:
[1] Players can pass the ball to each other using 1 or 2 touches;
[2] If players use 2 touches, then first touch can be with the sole of the foot or with the side of the foot;
[3] Before taking a shot at goal Player A can use 1 touch to control the ball and make a shot with the 2nd touch or he can shoot at once – with the 1st touch.
[4] Players can switch positions after 1, 3 or 5 shots;
[5] If more, than 3 field players participate in this drill, than all players starting from the 4th (let's name him – Player D) stand behind the cone of Player B. In this case, after the shot at goal was taken, players switch positions in the following manner: Player D takes the position of Player B, Player Btakes the position of Player C, Player C takes the position of Player A and Player A takes the position of the last player in the waiting line.
What a Coach Should Shout:
[1] More accurate passing!
[2] To Player C: “Strong and low pass!”
[3] Hit the corner of the goal with a shot!
[4] Shoot with the toe poke!
[5] Don't make the ball bounce after you passes!
Important note:
[1] It's very important for the players to time their moves and passes.
[2] The coach should also instruct Player A to time his sprint forward – he shouldn't do it too fast or too slow. Instead he should sprint, when Player C is about to make his pass.
